The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has issued formal warnings to numerous online gambling operators for breaching the Interactive Gambling Act. These companies illegally provided casino services to Australian residents.
The ACMA’s actions highlight a commitment to robust consumer protection and regulatory compliance within the online gambling sector. Several operators received warnings for offering unlicensed casino services to Australians. These included Australia Internet Pokies, which operated the “Best Aussie Pokies” website, a portal facilitating access to illegal gambling platforms. The website not only provided direct links and information enabling Australian consumers to engage with unlicensed sites but also published prohibited advertisements promoting casino brands specifically targeting Australian audiences.
Further warnings were issued to several international gambling operators lacking the necessary Australian licenses. Bamboo Media’s Ignition Casino offered casino games and live betting to Australian customers. Similarly, Consolutetish S.R.L. operated both National Casino and Bizzo Casino, providing games of chance and skill for monetary gain to Australian players without the required authorization.
Dama N.V. faced two separate warnings, one each for operating RocketPlay and Level Up Casino. Both platforms offered unlicensed betting services, including live betting, to Australians, lacking the essential state or territory licenses for legal operation.
The ACMA’s enforcement extended to gaming-related gambling platforms as well. Gamusoft LP, operator of CSGOFast, and Moontain Ltd, responsible for Skin.Club, received warnings. Both platforms offered casino-style games of chance and skill for money, thus providing illegal gambling opportunities to Australian users. The ACMA has also actively blocked numerous websites associated with unlicensed online gambling operators.
