A Joint Effort to Boost Blood Donation in Brazil
EstrelaBet and Vivo Keyd Stars have partnered to launch a significant blood donation drive on July 14th at the Pró-Sangue Foundation’s Posto Clínicas in São Paulo. This initiative, titled “Bet on Life – Be a Hero,” seeks to galvanize Brazil’s gaming and esports communities to contribute to national health initiatives.
The campaign leverages the considerable influence of professional esports athletes from Vivo Keyd Stars, who will be present at the donation event to encourage participation. Donors are requested to use the code “T2800” or mention the EstrelaBet campaign upon arrival.
Addressing a Critical Need
This collaborative effort underscores the ongoing national push to increase blood donations in Brazil. Official Ministry of Health figures reveal that only 1.6% of the Brazilian population donated blood in 2024, resulting in 3.3 million donations – a modest increase compared to 2023. By May 2025, a total of 831,518 blood bags had been collected.
Campaign Leadership and Impact
Victor Blecker, EstrelaBet’s Head of Branding, commented on the initiative’s potential, stating, “The gaming community is incredibly engaged, and we believe in harnessing this engagement for impactful causes. Donating blood is a simple act with the potential to save countless lives.”
Hugo Tristão, CEO of Vivo Keyd Stars, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the shared values between traditional sports and esports. He highlighted, “Participating in this campaign with our players demonstrates that principles like solidarity, teamwork, and dedication are integral to all forms of competition, including esports.”
Eligibility and Donation Process
To participate in the blood drive, potential donors must meet specific criteria: they must be in good health, aged between 16 and 69 years old, and present a valid photo ID. Donated blood will undergo processing to separate red cells, plasma, and platelets, which will then be utilized in various medical treatments across Brazil’s healthcare system.
