Three major Philippine integrated resorts (IRs) – Solaire Resort, Newport World Resorts, and Okada Manila – have jointly reaffirmed their commitment to adhering to all Philippine gaming regulations as they expand their online operations. In a statement released on July 11th, the operators emphasized their strict adherence to responsible gaming principles, anti-money laundering (AML) procedures, and data protection laws mandated by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
The operators described their digital platforms as a regulated and ethically managed extension of their land-based operations, designed to complement their existing offerings. Their commitment to responsible gaming is central to this expansion, they stated, operating under the rigorous oversight of PAGCOR. This commitment includes implementing various tools to mitigate risk, such as deposit limits, self-exclusion options, and age verification systems. Know-Your-Customer (KYC) verification is completed within 72 hours of user registration.
Furthermore, the IRs utilize sophisticated technological measures, including geo-blocking and IP filtering, to ensure compliance with PAGCOR’s geographical restrictions, allowing access only to users within the Philippines. All gaming content and equipment undergo thorough evaluation by PAGCOR before deployment, and promotional material is vetted by both the regulator and the Advertising Standards Council.
Robust internal controls are also in place, encompassing regular audits, employee licensing, and annual compliance training. The operators underscored their proactive approach to safeguarding player interests and maintaining operational transparency, exceeding the minimum regulatory requirements.
These three IRs collectively employ over 30,000 individuals and welcome more than two million tourists annually across their properties in Entertainment City. Beyond regulatory compliance, they actively contribute to public welfare through support for initiatives in education, healthcare, and disaster relief, showcasing a broader commitment to corporate social responsibility.
This joint statement follows a May announcement from Newport World Resorts regarding an upgrade to its digital infrastructure to meet increasing demand, not to launch a new application as had been speculated. Alliance Global, the parent company, previously reported that digital gaming now accounts for almost 50% of total casino revenue in the Philippines.
