Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation has launched the development of a national online monitoring system for gambling activities. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, improve regulatory compliance within the legal gambling sector, and curtail illegal gambling operations.
The system will provide real-time tracking of all bets, recording payouts and winnings. Crucially, it will also publicly disseminate data on market volume, promoting greater accountability.
To foster collaboration and ensure the system effectively meets the needs of both operators and regulators, public consultations are planned for July 21st. These online consultations invite IT companies to contribute to the system’s design, with registration closing on July 18th. The Ministry emphasizes the creation of a user-friendly and efficient monitoring infrastructure.
The Ministry stresses the importance of collaborative efforts among stakeholders for successful implementation and ongoing effectiveness. This development underscores Ukraine’s commitment to modernizing its regulatory framework for the gambling industry.
This initiative follows significant restructuring within Ukraine’s gambling governance. The Cabinet of Ministers dissolved the former Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries, replacing it with a new regulatory body. The development of this comprehensive monitoring system represents a key step in Ukraine’s efforts to establish a robust and transparent gambling regulatory environment.
