Dr. Stefan Tweraser has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Zeal Network SE, the German online lottery provider announced. He assumes the role following the departure of Dr. Helmut Becker, who served as CEO for ten years. Dr. Becker is leaving to pursue other business ventures.

Dr. Tweraser brings over two decades of experience in senior management positions at prominent organizations, including Google and Deezer. This extensive background will be instrumental in guiding Zeal Network SE’s future growth.

Carola von Schmettow acknowledged Dr. Becker’s significant contributions to the company. She highlighted his expansion of Zeal’s market dominance in the German online lottery sector, his strengthening of the business model within a complex regulatory environment, and his strategic diversification through innovative product launches such as the dream house raffle.
Strong Financial Performance Under Becker’s Leadership
Dr. Becker’s tenure concluded with a period of substantial financial success. In the first quarter of the year, Zeal Network saw a significant increase in revenue. Specifically, the company reported an 88% surge in EBITDA in March, and lottery ticket sales surpassed €1 billion ($1.1 billion) for the first time.
Tweraser’s Plans for the Future
Dr. Tweraser will officially commence his duties on September 15th. He most recently served as CEO of Rocket Factory Augsburg, a position he held until April. He will aim to capitalize on the positive momentum established by his predecessor and continue Zeal Network SE’s trajectory of growth.
